Open Post: Hosted By The Man Who Paid Over $15,000 For A Realistic Dog Costume To Fulfill His Dream Of Becoming An Animal

If a realistic cat backpack isn’t for you, may I interest you in a realistic dog costume? All it takes to become a four-legged hairy beast is $15K and a dream! A Japanese gentleman named Toko made his lifelong wish to become an animal a reality after commissioning a highly specialized sculpting company to make him the best dog costume you can find this side of Party City. This might be a game-changer for the furry community!

After contemplating multiple animals, Toko decided that a collie was the perfect paw-ption for his transformation. As told by Yahoo! News:

“I made it a collie because it looks real when I put it on. My favorite is quadrupedal animals, especially cute ones. Among them, I thought that a big animal close to me would be good, considering that it would be a realistic model, so I decided to make it a dog,” Toko said. “I met such a condition and made collie, my favorite breed of dog.”

The hopeful Toko contacted Zeppet, a company that mainly does sculpting and models for movies and television, and after 40 days of multiple revisions and bark-breaking work, he received his prized costume. Apparently, they didn’t just give Toko a $4.99 Wolfman outfit and call it a day. These guys actually took the job seriously!

“The point is that the skeleton of a dog can be reproduced on the skeleton of a human. Since the structure of the skeleton is very different, we spent a lot of time studying how to make it look like a ‘dog,’” the employee told Mynavi. “In addition, we collect photographs taken from various angles so that the beautiful coat of the collie can be reproduced and devised so that the coat will flow naturally.”

Zeppet is truly dedicated to the craft of making human-dog hybrids! One look at Toko and you’ll see that it was totally worth the time.

I guess kudos to Toko for sticking to his goal. Not all of us are that committed. While this might be his dream come alive, this is my nightmare. If I adopt a dog anytime in the near future, I’m now forced to ask, “Is this a purebred or an original Zeppet?”
