Chris Brown Apologized To Robert Glasper After His Post-Grammy Loss Tantrum

One of the things I hadn’t anticipated at this year’s Grammys was being reminded Chris Brown is still a brat who acts out when he doesn’t get his way. After he lost the Grammy for Best R&B Album to Robert Glasper Chris went on a tirade showcasing his own ignorance about who Robert is, and it made him look worse than he already does. So in the aftermath of his sour grapes soliloquy Chris reached out to Robert to apologize, but not without turning his rage to the Academy for putting them in the same category in the first place.

Page Six reports Chris really thought he was the Regina George of the Grammys by treating his social media like a Burn Book to question who Robert is. Sir, had you not been spending these past years terrorizing humanity some more and spreading your demon seed around, you’d know Robert now has five Grammys, while you’re still stuck on one. Robert has also worked in a variety of genres and is a well-respected musician, while you’ve been singing the same damn song since the early aughts. And I guess Chris got the memo because he finally got out of his Drake-ass feelings and apologized to Robert….kinda.

After the decorated pianist and music producer won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album for “Black Radio III” on Sunday, Brown threw a several-slide temper tantrum on his Instagram Story.

Returning to the scene of the crime on Monday, the “Breezy” creator, 33, posted a screenshot of a direct message he later sent to Glasper, 44, explaining himself.

“Congratulations my brother.. I would like to apologize if you took offense to my reaction at the Grammys,” Brown wrote, acknowledging that he “came off really rude and mean.”

If you took offense” is the most gaslight-y term in the world because, of course, he took offense since you were being offensive. But in an attempt to throw a little We Shall Overcome into the mix since it’s Black History Month, Chris made a very thinly veiled gesture of solidarity by blaming the Academy for putting two black artists from different genres against each other in the same category.

He added, “After doing my research I actually think your [sic] amazing.”

The “Deuces” crooner then re-directed his anger toward the Recording Academy, saying that Glasper was “not the Intended target.”

“THE ORGANIZATION ISNT DOING US BLACKS OUR DUE DILIGENCE. YOU AND I SHOULD never be in the same categor[y].. two totally different vibes and genres,” he penned.

Nice try, Chris, but not winning a Grammy isn’t exactly an infraction against civil rights, so please quit while you’re behind. You could have easily said nothing, but your attempt to discredit Robert left you with The Price Is Right loser horn playing in the background. And it doesn’t matter what category the Grammys shoved you in, you weren’t going to win because nobody likes you. And now you can see why.
